The program shall be appropriate for the needs of residents and will be directed towards restoring and monitoring optimal levels of physical and psychological functions. New Way of Southwest Louisiana LLC PRTF Program seeks to achieve the following specific objectives:
a. To improve mood and affect in daily living
b. To improve social, familial, and social adjustment and integration
c. To reduce the need for a higher level of care
d. To reduce symptoms or needs and build residents
New Way of Southwest Louisiana serves residential treatment to boys ages 6 to 17 with severe behavioral, emotional, and/or family disturbances. We admit youth for assessment and intensive residential treatment. Clients may enter our facility for a variety of reasons including, but not limited to; the following are needs, patterns, situations or patterns commonly addressed.
1. Dysfunction in personal and emotional functioning, low self-esteem, impulsivity, poor judgement, high agitation, depression, and inability to emotionally regulate.
2. Inability to function in home, school, and/or community.
3. inability to control acts of aggression towards self and others.
4. Educational difficulties including disruptive or delinquent behaviors, and unsatisfactory academic performance.
5. Adjustment problems in relationships, communication problems, lack of respect for rights of others, running away, persistent lying, stealing, rebellion, disrespect, lack of emotional bonding or violations of school/community rules.
New Way of Southwest Louisiana is committed to serving individuals from the four corners of the earth. While individuals from all nations are welcome, we anticipate that most clients in our program will be drawn from Southwest Louisiana to allow active and/or developing the resource needed to support and strengthen the client’s present level of functioning.
